the prizes have been awarded!Click here to see if you won! the grand prizeOn October 1, 2008 Marcher Lord Press will be holding a massive prize drawing. We will give away dozens of prizes, each of them something a fan of speculative fiction would love. But the main event, of course, is the grand prize. After much thought and exploration of options, Marcher Lord Press staff has decided on a grand prize that will, literally, take you soaring. The grand prize is a trip. And not just any trip. Not a trip to, like, Taco Plaza. Nay, a bona fide trip to a destination you and any other self-respecting fan of speculative fiction would love to go. We're sending the lucky winner and a guest to the 2009 ComicCON convention in San Diego. If you're already rejoicing, it's because you know how amazingly cool ComicCON is. If you're going, "Comic-what?" then you are in for a pleasant enlightenment. ComicCON is the place to be for anyone who loves speculative movies, TV shows, games, comics, and collectables. Despite its name, it's not just comics. Indeed, comics have become a relatively small part of this bigger than life event. Marcher Lord Press publisher, Jeff Gerke, attended the 2007 ComicCON with friends. He shook hands with Marina Sirtis (Counselor Troi from Star Trek: The Next Generation), sat in on a panel discussion with Ridley Scott (director of Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, and more), and had his photo taken with Richard Hatch (Apollo in the original Battlestar Galactica series and Zarek in the new series on the Sci-Fi Channel). He shook hands with David Prowse (the man inside the Darth Vader suit in the original three Star Wars movies), saw the director and lead cast of 300, saw Clive Owen and Lou Ferrigno (the Hulk) and Sean Young (Blade Runner). Plus the main cast of Battlestar Galactica (the new series) and Heroes. Yeah, Heroes. And those were just the celebrities. The convention floor had huge booths from LucasArts, Marvel, McFarlane Toys, Gentle Giant, 20th Century Fox, the Sci-Fi Channel, DC Comics, Magic: The Gathering, and gazillions of others. Plus there were exclusive early screenings of movies, sneak peeks at new video games, autograph booths, prize drawings, a horde of illustrators, and lots of goofy people in costume. What's not to love? And, just to cap things off, he also had his photo taken with Jabba the Hutt. Jabba du Hutt to his friends. These things and more await you, lucky winner, if you win the drawing on October 1. The prize includes roundtrip airfare for two (from the Continental U.S. only), hotel room, convention pass, and more. What? Still not registered for the drawing? Egad! Fix that immediately! Click here to register. And remember, you increase your chances of winning this incredible prize by telling others about it. When someone else registers to win and mentions your name as referrer, your name goes back into the prize hat another time. The more people you tell, the better your chances of winning. So get out there and tell everyone you know! The grand prize has arrived, and it is indeed grand. |

grand-ish prizesSo...what if you don't win the grand prize? I mean, only one person can win that, right? Or what if you don't live in the Continental U.S.? Are you out of luck? Never! The Marcher Lord Press prize team scoured the galaxy for many prizes before deciding on the grand prize. We wanted to have dozens, maybe even one hundred, prizes to be given away on launch day. And the team did not return empty-handed. Here are just a few of the other prizes that will be given out on October 1. Some of these have already arrived at Marcher Lord Press headquarters, while others have been promised. And the search continues even as you read this. Some but not all of these will be prizes that can be won by folks living outside the Continental U.S. The prizes so far: | ||
